DIY All Natural Deodorant Type 1 Results | I Can Craft That

Ok so I have had a few weeks to use the deodorant and do some more research. Results were both great and disappointing. The great results were experience by both my husband and myself. Better than any antiperspirant or deodorant that myself or husband have used at keeping all the smell away. The disappointing part was the burning sensation of the Orange Essential Oil only happened after shaving, but the red bumpy armpits did not stop. My husband experience burning, itching, and redness and stopped using it.

DIY All Natural Deodorant Type 1 | I Can Craft That

So I have embarked on a bit of a journey on DIY Home Made Natural Beauty Kick. I have started with deodorant. I am not a woman that normally wears deodorant. I normally wear Antiperspirant but find that after a few hours I not only am sweating but I also have a slight odor come end of the day. Unpleasant I know. So I am trying out some DIY deodorants, thus far the results are good. I am sweating but not smelling.

A Journey to DIY Handmade Skin Care | I Can Craft That

I am going to do something very scary.

I am going to  put an untouched photo of me up for the whole world to see.

A photo I let my husband take none the less...

Why? Why would I do this to myself and the world?

Because I am starting a new skin regime of products I made myself out of all natural home made products. I need an honest before and after to go along the way.

So what am I doing? What am I using on my face, hair, and body? That is all to come. Next week I am going to post a homemade deodorant recipe, and in a few weeks Ill tell you how well it works. Week after Ill post my face oil and cleansing regime, hair care experiments etc.

OK are your ready for it? My scary totally untouched no makeup, messy hair photo?

You asked for it...

The Best Homemade Lemon Aid | I Can Craft That

I love lemon aid. A lot. Like a whole bunch. I often find thought store bought ones are either so sweet they make my teeth hurt or so sour I want to cry. So I decided to make a bunch of my own for Evelyn birthday party. I got a Case. Yes a CASE of lemons and started squeezing.... and squeezing and squeezing and roped my husband in squeezing.

I stored the extra in water bottles in the freezer because there was so much.

I then made a simple syrup. 1 Cup water to 1 Cup sugar heated by boiling until all the sugar is melted.

Lemon Aid:
3/4 Cup Simple Syrup
1 Cup Lemon Juice
3 Cups Cold Water (or more depending on preference)

Tips for Squeezing Lemons

First off to loosen the juices squish and roll the lemon. it helps release the most amount of juice.

Next Slice the lemons in half and using a lemon juicer squeeze. You can use a hand juicer if you wish but I prefer to use one with a collection bin underneath so I could filter out the pulp a bit.

I too all the juices and the pulp and put it through a hand strainer and pressed the pulp with a spatula to get the most amount of liquid out.

This is a very very small portion of the lemons I used. We had the freshest smelling organics green bin in town I tell ya.

The end product is absolutely delicious.

So go on get your juicing on and enjoy a delicious summer drink. Let me know how you like it!
